On episode 52, we hear from Owen Nicholls, author of the debut rom com Love, Unscripted. I really enjoyed this novel about Nick and Ellie, an Nick’s efforts to understand their relationship and why it ended. If you liked High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, Love Unscripted is definitely one for you to pick up. I’ve been seeing this novel everywhere for a good few months now, as its title is so similar to my own novel’s. It turns out that Owen and I actually grew up in neighbouring towns, too – so the slightly spooky similarities don’t end there!

Owen Nicholls and I talked about some underrated rom coms, a little known film he recommends to us all, and the breathtaking speed of the publishing industry (!) when compared to film making, and more.
