The Hogwarts Express shows no sign of stopping, even almost twenty years after publication of the first Harry Potter novel. Alongside fitness guru Joe Wicks, JK Rowling was responsible for a large part of the 2016 book sales surge.
Two hotly anticipated thrillers, Emma Flint’s Little Deaths and Joseph Knox’s Sirens, are among the titles to be chosen by WH Smith Travel for their Spring Fresh Talent Promotion, which “encourages readers to take a risk on a new author”. Both books are published in the UK on Thursday 12th January. Little Deaths will be released in the US shortly after, on Tuesday 17th January. You can read an excerpt here.
At the Creative Industries Federation’s second anniversary celebrations on 9th January, London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan, acknowledged that “there are so many Brits and Londoners ensuring our country punches above its weight culturally right now. And while Brexit may be looming large on the horizon I promise I’ll do anything I can to ensure London’s Creative Industries continue to flourish.”
